Bubble Escapement

For Kunstvlaai 2014 (‘From Safety to Where? I Love the Feeling of Being Slightly Lost’) we’ve created a spatial intervention that offers the users a playful and ephemeral experience through physical participation. Reacting to the context of the park, we juxtaposed mundane park elements such as swings and benched with the act of bubble blowing. Challenging the users to work together to create gigantic bubbles and to swing into them, encourages them to make and take the possibility of this momentary experience and perhaps allow themselves to be positioned into a new perspective.
